Past Gigs
As usual it was very nice to play at Zorica’s Hexentanz Basel…
For the first time with a dedicated light show by Asteriza, a great enhancement.
Timegate is one of those prestigious large two-day parties in the Swiss psyTrance scene, always starting the day before New Years’ Eve and going right into the new year.
It was quite a trip to play the huge L-Acoustics sound system on the main floor of Timegate 2012 – I just loved it.
Eternal Bliss at Timegate 2012
Christmas was coming and for those who didn’t want to sit at home there was “Progital” at luxurious Mansion Club in Grellingen near Basel. Very nice decoration by Georges. The fun started at 10pm on the 24th and Eternal Bliss performed at 2.30am on the 25th of December 2011.
It was a stellar gig. Everybody was happy, jumping and shouting. Afterwards people came to thank me for that nice Christmas present of music. I enjoyed playing very much because I could hear my music well.
Only minutes before the shops closed I had gone to buy a pair of Shure SE215 in-ear Sound Isolating Earphones. I had often been unhappy with the monitoring situations on stage, barely hearing where in the track I was, with standing waves and strong reflections in the rooms. Most Swiss clubs have good PAs but poor acoustics. The in-ear phones made a big difference because they are damping the surrounding sound quite strongly so you don’t have to crank up the phones until it hurts.
As wireless in-ear monitoring is quite expensive (if you want good quality) I just used the phones and a cable connection to my little Behringer mixing desk. This works fine but I had to put the cable underneath my shirt and attach it to my belt in order to avoid the ear phones to be plugged out of my ear by some accidental movement.
Eternal Bliss played at Guitars on Shrooms at UG Bülach October 22nd 2011. It was a great gig! And a special pleasure for all those who love guitars AND psyTrance. The crowd went crazy and there was this fiesta feeling that I normally know only from Ibiza…
Here’s a little video. The sound is lousy because it was very loud but it still gives some impression.

And this is what gmsamotraki wrote on youtube:
u r right. was a hell of a party
i was lucky enough to change a few words with eternal bliss outside, very nice guy too(not only guitarrist).
the fiesta feeling was there cause ug bulach was full of portuguese goa freaks, and because your sound was really flowy. with flowy i mean : there was a psy/full-on base and the guitar on top, like it should be.
other live acts during the night didnt do it so well.
hope to see u at the boom next year
Burning Man was quite a trip! A wonderful festival in the midst of the Nevada desert and I want to be back there again.
I played two concerts at center stage and then one improvised gig early Friday morning at the bar near our RV which was very much fun. Waking up the neighbors with psyTrance!
Once you enter Burning Man there’s no money – everything’s for free, and I really liked that. Capitalism has to stay outside!
There’s also no mobile communication and no internet which makes it quite difficult to stay in touch with your friends if you don’t live right next door.
As there are no taxis you either walk or use your bicycle. But Black Rock City is really large so I had the problem of transporting my guitar and my equipment case. For the first gig there was an art car that took me for a ride. Fortunately my neighbor built me a trailer out of a cooler box – very nice and thanks again!
See you next year, Burning Man!
The first two fotos are by Arnoldo Steiner. Thanks!

The seventh edition of the Reisefieber festival again took place from 24th to 26th of June 2011 on some lovely meadows close to Scheltenpass, the mountain pass that connects Balsthal to Delémont in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The party crew had installed an amazing decoration with an integrated light show and a big stage with a powerful sound system and computer visuals for the 2’500 visitors. Most of them camped around the festival.
There was also a very nice chillout zone operated by the Glückspilz people who had set up a huge orange tent. All in all it was one of the nicest festivals I have been attending.
Eternal Bliss was scheduled on early Saturday morning. There were some initial sound problems that plagued the first song but then things went off very nicely. Photographer Roman Heid has made some great pics – enjoy!
On June 11th Eternal Bliss performed in a magical primeval forest of Ticino which is the Italian spoken southern canton of Switzerland with a warm and humid climate. There were huge sycamore trees that reminded me of the Avatar movie and there was lush plant life all over the place and the most delicious water coming from a source in the forest!
It was great fun to play although I look a bit grim on the photo – that’s just my concentration on music.
On the right side is my son and co-composer Sean Wassermann who is just preparing his DJ set. Later on my friend Yves Wüthrich was playing his Lachfalter live-act, which is some very special psyTrance music performed on a couple of Korg Electribes and drum machines.
In the morning they played hardcore techno which I personally found disturbing – some Psychedelic Chill would have been much more appropriate to the beautiful sounds of the singing birds when the sun was coming up, at least in my opinion…
On May 19th Eternal Bliss performed at a free pre-graduate party at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, north of Los Angeles. DJs Jason Dornick and Sean Wassermann played Dubstep and psyTrance, respectively. The student crowd went wild but the party was shut down before midnight because it was a bit loud.
Switzerland has a long tradition of free outdoor parties somewhere in the forest as soon as the weather gets warmer. Actually sometimes even in the middle of winter. This year the month of April was exceptionally warm and so all the partygoers at Xtrasolar outdoors close to the castle ruin of Gilgenberg were in a great mood. I performed at 9am just as the sun was coming up behind the trees – very nice!
