In the first phase of Eternal Bliss in the mid-nineties we not only released some vinyls, some compilation tracks and the album “Pyramids”, we also produced three videos that were pretty outstanding for the time.
Our friend Pascal Müller did all the visualizations and the renderings. It was a very tedious work as the fastest Mac of that time probably had about the same processing power as an iPhone today.
Pascal had a daytime job. He would work on the videos in the evenings and at night without being able to see the results before the next evening when the Mac had done all the calculation work for another 5 seconds of footage. More often than not it turned out that there were errors so the scene had to be re-calculated during the next day.
Pascal worked for months on just one video and he did it for free. But in the end this work earned him a fulltime job as a multimedia designer and programmer. Which goes to show once more that good work is never lost and that it can make good sense to work for free as long as you’re going after your dreams.
